BC Food and Beverage carried out a comprehensive study that assessed the current state of the BC food and beverage manufacturing industry, known as “The State of the Industry Study”. The study covered:

  • A review of the historical and current state of BC food and beverage manufacturing operations, including a review of profitability, input costs, land/manufacturing space costs and availability, regulatory factors, and labour.
  • A review and analysis of the current challenges facing the BC food and beverage manufacturing industry. 
  • An identification of potential actions that can be pursued by BCFB, government, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance the overall competitiveness of the BC food and beverage manufacturing industry. 

 

BCFB is set to release the State of the Industry Study at the end of May 2024. Alongside the study release, on May 30th, BCFB will host a 1-hour panel discussion featuring executives from BC food and beverage companies that participated in the study. 


The executive panel will address critical topics, including primary challenges facing the BC food and beverage manufacturing industry and potential solutions to enhance industry competitiveness. The discussion will be led by BCFB’s CEO, James Donaldson.
